It’s all too overwhelming and you’re sick of staying stuck in the same vicious cycle.

For awhile, maybe a long while, you found ways to cope. With the stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, however your emotional pain manifests. You found your ways and you kept your head above water and it worked ok for a little while. But that only worked for so long and now the toll of it all has added up.

One of the hardest parts about being a human is that we have a strong drive to avoid pain, and so often the quick-fixes for our pain just lead to more pain.

It feels like our brains set us up for failure. We feel anxious or depressed so we have a glass of wine, a hit of cannabis, doom scroll on our phones, or lay in bed and avoid everything altogether. That works ok for a little while. Then that behavior is reinforced so we turn to it again, and again. In moderation that’s all fine and good. When we never learn how to face and actually address our pain it just continues to build until it overflows.

All the while our minds start to turn against us. Telling us that we are “worthless,” “failures,” “can’t do anything right,” “need to be more ___ or less ___.” Pile on existential anxiety from the world around us and the burden feels too heavy to carry. Maybe the external costs have started to pile up too. Damaged relationships, poor performance at work, health crises, financial strain...

You can only avoid for so long before it all those things you tried to escape from come to the surface and demand your attention. Your emotions are like a beachball that you’ve been trying to hold under water. You can hold it down with consistent effort, but the second you let up it comes bursting through the surface and soaks you in the process.

Dr. Rachel Thompson

I understand how scary it is to finally have to face all of it when you’ve put so much effort into avoiding it. Trying to protect yourself from it. You aren’t meant to face it alone.

Self-help and support groups are great. But you aren’t meant to fit a program or a treatment. You need a treatment that fits you.

Some people find great relief in support groups, self-help books, and 12-step programs and that’s great. I hope that you do. But there are loads of people who need a more flexible and individualized approach. That’s where I step in. I have well over a decade of experience helping people find relief and I want to do the same for you.

One axiom that fits therapy as much as it fits 12-steps is that it works if you work it. The difference is that individual therapy does not required you to follow a pre-determined process with set goals. I’m here to meet you where YOU are and work on YOUR goals.

The biggest thing that I ask of you is that you are willing to be open to the process, and that you’re ready to get to work.

I have extensive training in Evidence-Based Treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Every person has a unique set of needs and we will tailor an approach that works with you, your brain, and your lifestyle. If you need to learn new skills, I will teach you skills. If you need to process trauma, we will process trauma. If you need to learn how to be at peace in your mind, I will teach you how to be at peace in your mind. If you need accountability, I will hold you accountable.

It’s ok if you don’t have hope things will get better yet. I do. I’ve done this for over a decade and I know for a fact that things will not stay this way forever. I understand that you might feel like you’re in the middle of a storm right now. I’m not asking you to just weather the storm; I’m going to jump in the storm with you. Throw you a life raft if you need it. Teach you how to navigate it and remind you just how capable you are. And I’ll be there beside you to celebrate when the sun comes out again.

Let’s get started.

Ketamine + Psychotherapy

At Hello Mental Health we offer ketamine integration sessions- a form of psychotherapy that takes place within 24-48 hours of ketamine infusions. One of the most significant factors contributing to the immediate changes people experience after IV ketamine therapy is the rapid onset of its effects. Unlike traditional antidepressants, which can take weeks or even months to begin working, ketamine can start to work within hours or even minutes after administration. This rapid onset of action can provide immediate relief from symptoms and when combined with psychotherapy patients can maximize the impact of ketamine treatment and lay the groundwork for lasting change.
